Maler began with a clear mission to solve real-world problems in content translation. After witnessing the exorbitant costs of video translation—often exceeding $1,000 per hour of content—our founder Leonard Maler started developing BabelSync in 2020 as a passion project during evenings and weekends, drawing on a decade of experience working across France and England.
While developing BabelSync, he identified another critical gap: the lack of intuitive version control tools for non-developers and solo projects. This insight led to the creation of Zippy, our streamlined version control solution designed to make file versioning accessible to everyone, regardless of technical expertise.
What started as solutions to specific technical challenges has evolved into something much larger. Over the past years, our team has grown to include talented engineers and designers committed to refining these tools for real-world applications. Today, both BabelSync and Zippy serve users across industries—from independent creators to enterprise teams—united by the desire for technology that simplifies rather than complicates their work.
To create products that seamlessly integrate with natural human workflows, enhancing productivity without adding complexity. We believe in building tools that feel like extensions of your thinking process, not obstacles to overcome.
